BEXTER HOF | HISTORY

The original farm was first mentioned in a document in 1316.

The spacious expansion of the farmstead to one of the largest “Meierhöfe“, with an agricultural character, in the town of Herford, took place over many generations.

As of 1970 the economic focus of the farm changed completely. Ulrich Meyer zu Bexten‘s passion for the equestrian sport heralded a transition point: sport horse keeping and management, training and education of jumping horses, as well as their marketing became the basis of his international success in the saddle and also secured the economic stability of the facility under new aspects.

Today, the Bexter Hof combines three aspects in a perfectly sophisticated manner:

  • The special atmosphere of an equestrian facility with its lovingly maintained, traditional buildings, listed under heritage protection
  • A state-of-the-art training center for show-jumping with the highest level of professionalism
  • A competition facility that meets international expectations.
